I know I am doubly disillusioned.
Seriously, once again we are telling the government we are unhappy with their progress. We are exercising our democratic rights to say “no” as a nation. We blocked the Liberal’s legislation because we the majority do not agree with what they are doing. This is “oversight” and the Senate is responsible for that. So instead of good governance, our some of our elected representatives are saying “no” to changing the policies. Now they intend to send the nation back to the polling booths, after first changing the way we are allowed vote. Oh, what a lucky country I live in!
Freedom is a funny thing. In 1987 it was the Australia Card or the tag and bag approach. This time it is over three bills that are unpopular with the majority. The reality is these bills do not effect high income wages, they affect the basic workers wages, entitlements and well fought rights. It always amazes me how the liberal party demonizes the other party after all they are Australian, too.
